FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As we make the final preparations for our big event, here are answers to a lot of questions we’ve been getting…

YES, IT”S REALLY FREE

We don’t charge any admission to the grounds, nor do we charge for parking. When you come to our festival, the only things you’ll have to pay for are the carnival rides, food, beverages, etc

How do I get tickets for the Low German show?

Tickets will be available online at www.winklerconcerthall.ca until Thursday morning. You can also get tickets at our ticket office at City Hall Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.  Plus, tickets will be available at the door before each show at the Concert Hall.  Shows are Thursday, Aug 12 and Friday Aug 13 at 7pm and Saturday, Aug 14 at 2pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

WHAT DO I DO IF I WANT TO ENTER THE PARADE?

We’ll take applications online until Tuesday morning. (Just click on “parade” on the menu to the right) After that, if you wish to be part of the parade, you’re welcome to come to the mashalling area Saturday morning Aug 14 between 8:30 and 9:30am on 15th Street near the golf course (make sure you’re travelling south)  We’ll let you know where to park to wait for the parade to start.  Last minute entries will just be added to the back of the parade.  There is no entry fee for the parade.

Where can I park?

We generally run out of nearby parking spaces early in the day, so we encourage car pooling, walking and biking to the grounds whenever possible.  There are parking lots located on Grandeur Avenue (watch for signs), in front of the swimming pool at 600 Park Street, plus at the GVC parking lots on Main Street. Otherwise, you’ll have to find a spot on the side streets. Please check the parking signs to make sure you’re parking legally.

What happens if it rains?

Like most outdoor events, our activities will go rain or shine unless the weather makes it impossible. The local radio stations will broadcast and significant changes to the schedule.

I’m a vendor. What do I need to know?
